CROSSVILLE — On April 12, the members of the 127 South Senior Center had another good time playing bingo and dominos. Numbers were called by Arlene Simmons, and the gifts were provided by Bob Folger of State Farm Insurance.

Emil Neitzke opened the meeting at 10:40 a.m., with Bob Jones giving the opening prayer, followed by Fred Whittaker with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Jan Neitzke gave the treasurer's report and the status of the trips. May 18 will be the trip to Sutton General Store, which is near Granville, TN, and it is sold out. The June trip to England, etc. is also sold out. The July 9 day trip to the Day Lily Farm near Athens, TN, is $50. The August trip to the Jack Daniel Distillery is sold out.

There are three openings for the Mackinac Island trip set for Sept. 22-28. The October trip to Dollywood is also sold out. In November, they will have another day trip to the Cumberland County Playhouse, which will cost $38. The December trip to see the Rockettes is sold out. If interested in any of these trip, even if it is sold out, you can put your name on the waiting list. Call Jan at 788-3667.

Sharon Hilton gave reports to the members on different events happening in the community.

Emil gave a report on all the sick members and requested prayers for all of them. They were happy to see Bob Brown back from his illness.

Emil recognized Carol Kirkland for doing a superb job of always having wonderful entertainment. Being it was Carol's birthday, everyone sang "Happy Birthday."

Entertainment was provided by Donna and D.J. Garrison, who also wrote a song in honor of Carol's birthday. The Garrisons were so enjoyable as usual, but this time they had guitar music instead of a keyboard — such wonderful music!

After the dinner prayer, everyone enjoyed a delicious pasta dish, prepared by Denise Acquista and her kitchen helpers, with side dishes and desserts brought in by members.
