It's once again time for the Stitch and Share Show – Quilts Old and New, sponsored by the Stitch, Show and Share Quilt Guild in Sparta. It will be May 2-3 at the Agricultural Building on the White County Fairgrounds. Hours are Friday, May 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission fee is $5.
They currently need quilts for the show. Anyone who has quilts to share, including those that you made, passed down through the family or given as a gift, are asked to submit them. There is no charge. Since the guild members are quilters themselves, the quilts will be treated with great care. Antique quilts are very special, and they will be treated with respect. They will not be hung, but displayed during a bed turning by gloved members of the guild. Security will be provided 24 hours a day.
Entry forms are available at local quilt shops or contact Nance Walker at 788-1499. Access to mail-in forms are also available online at https://sites.google.com/site/stitchshowsharequiltguild/.
Closing date for entries is April 16. Only pre-registered quilts will be accepted for hanging on
Thursday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Agricultural Building, Hale St. (off Spring
St./Rt. 289) in Sparta.
