Elvis is in the building

CROSSVILLE — This will be the third year for Bob (Elvis) Johnson to perform in the Lucas and Friends Christmas Variety Show. Boy, does he have those Elvis songs and moves down good! He performed at this past year’s Pioneer Day. You can see Johnson sing and dance by Googling "Bob Johnson Crossville TN." He is by far the best Elvis impersonator around and has been offered some great jobs, but did not want to leave the area.

Singing back up with him will be Becky Johnson and Melissa Peak. Peak currently has a gospel CD out. You can see Elvis in person on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the fourth annual Lucas Christmas Show. This is just some of the great entertainment in the show.

Ruth and Wayne Lucas  have work very hard on this show to benefit the Fair Park Senior Center. Ruth works at the Cumberland County Health Department, and Wayne works at the Wholesale Supply Group. They love singing together. This year they will have lots of Christmas tunes, country, jazz and contemporary, all in one show. Gordon Stack will be hosting the show, which is full of knee-slapping, foot-stomping laughter.

The Crossville Kickers, the line dance group from Thursday night at the Fair Park Senior Center, will be keeping the show active with their dancing. Ann and Don Weaver do a great job with this moving senior group.

This year’s entertainment may include someone you know. You will hear Anthony Woolbright, manager of U.G.O.; Paul and Sandy Thomas; Judy Fistler; Kelsie Matthews; Carol Russell; and Alan and Sara Moore. But be prepared; there will also be horses, chickens and dogs in this year’s show, too. Rumor is there will be some door prizes. As anyone will tell you, every year the show just gets better and better.

Ticket sales for the show has really been going great. If you plan to see the fourth annual Lucas and Friends Christmas Variety Show, you had better go ahead and get those tickets today. Tickets are only $10 per seat and are available at the Fair Park Senior Center, across from the fairgrounds. You can also purchase tickets from Ruth or Wayne Lucas by calling 248-2487. The people in the show also have tickets for sale. The show will be Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Palace Theatre.

Christmas will be here very soon. Plan to take someone to see the Lucas Christmas Show, and take some kids with you, to make memories they will always remember!

Fair Park Senior Center hopes you and your family have a nice Thanksgiving. The center will be closed this Thursday for Thanksgiving and Friday. They are located at 1433 Livingston Rd., just across from the fairgrounds.
