Daniels entertains 127 South Seniors

CROSSVILLE — The Seniors of 127 South met Feb. 15 for bingo and conversation. Arlene Simmons called the numbers, and Buckeye Home Health and the senior center furnished the prizes.

Emil Neitzke, president, opened the regular meeting, with Larry Oslund giving the prayer and Tom Fincher leading the pledge to the flag. Tom also read the names of those on the prayer list. So please remember all of them.

The following are the trips for this year. The March 9 trip will be to Renfro Valley, KY. The April 15-19 will be the trip to Memphis/Tunica, which is sold out. May 18 will be the trip to Sutton General Store. The cost is $55, which includes a catered dinner. Seats are still available. June 16 will be the trip to England, lreland, Wales and Scotland. Seats are still available for this great trip.

July will be a day trip to Sunshine Hollow Day Lily Farm, which includes dinner and a wagon tour. The cost is $50 and seats are available. Aug. 3 will be a trip to the Jack Daniels Distillery with dinner at Miss Mary BoBo's Boarding House. The cost is $47 and seats are still available. ln September there will be two trips to Mackinac Island, with the first trip Sept. 8-13 and the second trip Sept. 22-27.

Oct. 8 will be a trip to Dollywood. The cost is $75, and seating is available. On Nov. 6, the seniors will see Sweet Surrender at the Cumberland County Playhouse. Call Jan Neitzke if interested in any of these trips at 248-2442.

The next game day for members will be Feb. 26.

Entertainment was provided by Lonnie Daniels, who has played at the Grand Ole Opry, played several different instruments, sang and told a few stories about his childhood and life in general. After the table blessing, Brenda Williams and her kitchen crew served baked chicken and sides brought in by members.
