Spring Brunch highlights musical history in Tennessee


CROSSVILLE — The music is alive in these Tennessee hills and will be more than ever March 22. The Crab-Orchard Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be hosting its annual Spring Brunch and the community is invited to join then  The Brunch will be held at Scarlet Catering at 5429 Peavine Rd. and begins at 11 a.m.

Attendees will be entertained with an enjoyable, yet educational, program dealing with the roots of musical beginnings in Eastern Tennessee to the music we hear today. The silent auction will add some voice to it this year. A live auction has been added to the event.

The cost of a ticket is $15 and may be purchased from any DAR member or by calling Wyonne at 707-5636. Tickets are selling like hotcakes and tables are being quickly reserved, so please don't hesitate. 

Membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution honors and preserves the legacy of your Patriot ancestors. More than two hundred years ago, American Patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedoms enjoyed today. As a member of DAR, through participation in the Society’s various programs and activities, you can continue this legacy by actively supporting historic preservation, promotion of education and patriotic endeavors.

Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving independence is eligible to join DAR. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage and death, as well as of the Revolutionary War service of her Patriot ancestor.

DAR provides the opportunity to contribute to important service projects; honor and preserve the legacy of patriot ancestors; make lifelong friends, participate in unique social and service-oriented programs within your community; be involved in a variety of programs that provide something for everyone; gain valuable leadership experience; establish a network of contacts in your community and all over the world.
