The 30th annual Middle Tennessee Modelers Association's Scale Model Show and Contest will be Saturday, Feb. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds, 1398 Livingston Rd., in the main exhibit building.
Everyone is invited to come and view the models on display. All types of models will be on display and there will be vendors with a wide variety of kits and supplies available. The Revell-Monogram Make 'N Take Event for the youth will be held. Concessions will be provided by Cumberland County 4-H Clubs.
Admission is free to the show. There is an entry fee for the contest (free to ages 15 and under). Cost is $6 for the first model entered and $1 for each additional model. Vendor tables will be available for $45.
The contest is strictly for static scale models constructed from unassembled — unfinished commercial plastic, resin or metal kits. Scratch-built models are welcome. Pre-assembled and pre-finished models, toys or replicas of any kind are not eligible for awards.
Teams of experienced judges will evaluate the entries for skill, accuracy and overall realism. Models should exuberate basic model building skills. They will award first, second and third place in each class. Additional recognition awards and special "best of" will be presented at their discretion.
There will be intermediate classes for youth ages 12-15 and junior classes for youth ages 11 and under. Other competition classes will include aircraft, military, auto and truck and miscellaneous.
