Stagecoach presents Scheele's artwork in December

Reception with artist set for Sunday

CROSSVILLE — The Stagecoach Place Cafe will feature the art of Jonathan Scheele during the month of December. Scheele, a Tennessee artist and commercial artist, illustrates travel-style posters. His style is reminiscent of the of the poster look from the 1920’s through the 1940’s, and features both national and more local subjects.

Scheele has loved art since childhood. That interest, plus long family trips all over the country, lead to the desire to capture vacation locations in illustration form. Scheele received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Georgia in 1998, and works in the field of advertising. He very recently began his own agency in Nashville.

Each poster begins with a series of thumbnails, that then go to a finished pencil illustration. The piece is then finished digitally.

The show will begin Dec. 9 with a reception with the artist from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Drinks and light appetizers will be provided.
