American Cancer Society to present walking horses

CROSSVILLE — The seventh annual Cumberland County Open Walking Horse Show will be June 8 at the Cumberland County Community Complex. The horse show is presented by the American Cancer Society.

There will be 28 classes, beginning with leadline for riders 6 years and under, at 6 p.m., and will conclude with the Robert Bottoms Memorial Walking Horse Stake.

There will be no entry fee for the leadline class. Entry fee is $50 or $60, depending on class, with a $75 entry fee for the stake class.

Dean Byard of Antioch, TN, will be the show judge, with Bradley Bottoms serving as the show manager and Vic Gernt III the master of ceremonies.

There will be trophies, ribbons and cash prizes for each class.

Admission is $5 for adults, with those under six admitted free.
