Knights of Columbus prepare for MR Drive

Submitted

— The vivid reds and golden yellows of nature will bedeck the Cumberland Plateau when it ushers in autumn. Before nature presents its colorful, seasonal wardrobe, the Crossville Knights of Columbus Council 8152 members and volunteers will don their familiar red and yellow vests as they launch their MR Drive fundraiser, known as the Tootsie Roll Drive.

The MR Drive has been a major charitable fundraiser of all the Knights of Columbus Councils throughout the United States and Canada for decades. Funds that are collected locally support the intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals of this area. The primary charities that benefit from this locally sponsored Knights of Columbus MR Drive are National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), The ARC and Hilltoppers, Inc.

The upcoming MR Drive will be held at Walmart, Kroger, Kmart, Food City (Crossville and the Peavine Rd. locations) on July 26-27 and Aug. 2-3.

The Knights of Columbus members are grateful for the cooperation of the local businesses in providing their locations for this fundraiser event. Also appreciated are the many area residents who donate so generously to this MR Drive to "help those who cannot help themselves." Thanks for your caring support.
