Do you or someone you know seem to have show biz in their blood? Then do not be shy; step out and show Crossville your talents at the third annual Crossville’s Got Talent Show. Any talent, any age can enter. Weather you are new to performing or have done it all your life, it all makes for a wonderful show when you bring so much talent together. Crossville does have many talented people of all kinds.
However, you need to get sign up ASAP. The experience is great for anyone who enjoys performing. There is nothing to lose; it is all for fun and always a great show. Contestant entry into this show is free.
The third annual Crossville’s Got Talent Show will be Friday, May 17, at the Palace Theatre, and they are currently looking for all the talented people in Crossville to get sign up this week. It is a benefit for the Fair Park Senior Center.
There will be an audition for this year’s show on Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m., which everyone in the show will need to attend.
The hosts for this show will be the Garrisons, D.J. and his wife, Donna, who always brings a little Las Vegas air into the show, making it all more exciting and lots of fun. Every year the judges are different, but always very qualified to judge the show.
This year’s judges will be Terry Burgess, Terri Utsey and Jason Ross. Burgess has always enjoyed acting and was a co-actor with Sissy Spacek and Tom Wilkinson in the 2001 movie In the Bedroom. Utsey has thrilled audiences in the area over the years as a great singer, as a regular in the Cumberland Jamboree and as her wonderful character “Miss Polly Perkinwrinkle.” Everyone who has enjoyed any of the plays at the Cumberland County Playhouse in the last several decades has seen Ross perform as many great characters in hundreds of plays. He is a very talented singer, dancer and actor.
The judges along with the audience will decide and vote for their favorites to be the winners. Cash prizes will be made available from the sponsors, Caris Health Care in Crossville. First-place winners will receive $100 and passes to the Six Flags over Georgia Amusement Park. Second-place winners will receive $50 and passes to the Wilderness at the Smokies. Third-place will receive $25 and tickets to the Cumberland County Playhouse. Again, it does not cost anything to enter just for fun, or you could win.
Tickets are on sale now at the Fair Park Senior Center Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at a cost of $10 per seat while they last.
