CROSSVILLE — The CustomersShare program is a very well-known and greatly appreciated program for area non-profits.  Customers of Volunteer Energy Cooperative participate in the VECustomers Share by having their bills are rounded up to the next highest dollar. The amount is then placed into the VECustomers Share fund to support projects that benefit communities in the Volunteer Energy Cooperative service area. Fair Park has been a recipient of numerous grants from the VECustomersShare program that have been instrumental in improving programs such as the adult day services program, craft classes, computer lab, and more.

According to the VEC, although each average VEC customer contributes about $6 per year (and never more than $11.88 annually), thousands of dollars each month are distributed to community groups each month as a result of this generosity.

Scout troops, youth sports, senior citizens groups, PTAs, and civic groups are examples of the types of organizations that benefit from VECustomers Share funds.

You can learn more about the CustomersShare program by going online to to VEC’s website at http://www.vec.org/.
