CROSSVILLE — Kassa Wilson enjoys singing songs with a message and she will be singing for the seniors this Friday morning at 9:45 a.m.

She is a 28-year-old stay-at-home mom with two toddlers, who is from the Atlanta area. She enjoys art and music and working at her church. You might have heard Kassa and her husband in some of the shows the Fair Park Senior Center has held at the Palace.

Ballroom room dancing is a fun and easy way to exercise. Cheron Stenson and her dance partner, David Sheffield, enjoy dancing and also love teaching others the steps and movements. The art of dancing elegantly across the ballroom floor does take practice. You can learn the most popular dance steps starting this Tuesday, Jan 21., at 2:30 p.m. at the center.

Bilbrey Funeral Home sponsors the Arts at Fair Park Senior Center.

Certified Arthritis Tai Chi Instructor, Angie Bedard will be starting her new class this Friday afternoon at 2:15. You are invited to check it out, and see how well it works for your pain.

Some folks are just naturally great at making the rest of us laugh! The 4th annual Gong Show is just the place for both kinds. If you or someone you know enjoys putting on short funny skits, dressing up as a character, singing silly songs, or doing something different with your friends, the show will be Feb. 21 at the Palace. This year’s judges will be Crossville Chief of Police David Beaty; comic Donna Garrison of Fairfield Glade; and Crossville Fire Chief Mike Turner. If you do not get Gonged, you could win some cool cash and prizes, which are sponsored by: Kali’s Restaurant, Tri-County Equipment Rental, NAPA Auto parts and your John Deer Dealer. Just call Fair Park and ask for Tina, 484-7416, and you can be added to the show.

The Fair Park Senior Center is located at 1433 Livingston Rd., across from the Fairgrounds. It is open to seniors Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with some evening classes. Check out the website to learn more,, or call 484-7416.
