Are you a pool player? The seniors at the Fair Park Senior Center will be starting their 2013-2014 Winter Eight Ball Pool League this month.
The League is for men and women, for those committed to attending every week during the season. If you can not commit to every week, please sign up to be a sub. Rules established from BCA. It is established by the number of teams and will probably last until April or May 2014. Teams will be picked according to handicap Oct. 29 at 12:30 p.m. Dues are due at that time. For more information, call Mike Livingston at 788-6483.
Need a ride? If you are a senior age 60+ without transportation (no car), you can currently take advantage of the transportation voucher program. Fair Park Senior Center has joined up with the Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency’s Area Regional Transit Systems with the U Carts program. Seniors can get rides to the doctor's office, to get groceries, or visit the Fair Park Senior Center! You can schedule your plans according to zones, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. You will need to arrange your activities between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. To get your transportation voucher and learn more, contact Carolyn Barnes at the Fair Park Senior Center at 484-7416.
Ring your bells and sing Christmas songs with the Ring and Sing group! Chorus Director Faye Brandon is getting them ready for Christmas. It is a lot of fun every Wednesday from 2-3 p.m.
Saturday Night Country Dances have moved their time up a little to start every Saturday at 5 p.m. The Southern Pride Country Band and Tom Fincher are playing all your favorites country dance tunes, so plan to get out this Saturday evening and do some dancing! It is for all ages of adults. Every week there is a special guest, too. So get out and have fun.
Whether it is to start exercising or just to play some cards, seniors in Cumberland County always have some place to go for things to do. Fair Park is at 1433 Livingston Rd. in Crossville, and is open Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with some evening classes. Visit www.fairparkseniorcenter.org or call 484-7416.
