Just as a colorful outdoor environment is the hallmark of the fall season, the colorful Fall Awards Show is a seasonal hallmark at the Plateau Creative Arts Center (PCAC). At the Fall Awards Show, both residents and visitors will enjoy viewing some of the finest artwork that the members of the Art Guild at Fairfield Glade have to offer. There will be original entries in multiple categories including watercolor and acrylic under glass, oil and acrylic not under glass, mixed media, pastel, colored pencil drawing, black and white drawing, photography, three-dimensional artwork and jewelry.
To celebrate the Fall Awards Show, the public is invited to the opening reception held at the PCAC Friday, Oct. 12, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. At the reception, the award winners chosen by art judge Jim Elwood will be announced. A current resident of Fairfield Glade, Elwood is a multi-talented commercial artist, architect and general contractor.
Everybody who views an art show has their own idea of which artwork deserves an award. So in addition to the awards chosen by Elwood, there will be a People’s Choice award. Viewers can choose their favorite entry at any time from the show’s opening Friday, Oct. 12, through Sunday, Oct. 14. The People Choice winner will be announced Monday, Oct. 15.
Ribbons will be placed next to all winning entries, and the Fall Awards Show may be viewed until its closing Thursday, Nov. 1.
