CROSSVILLE — On May 31, the members of the 127 South Senior Center again had an enjoyable time socializing and playing bingo, dominos and billiards. Bingo numbers were called by Arlene Simmons.

Emil Neitzke, president, opened the general meeting at 10:40 a.m., with Bob Jones giving the prayer and Freddie Whittaker leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Members were reminded of their July 19 picnic. Sign up with Sallye Sykes. Emil also reminded them to bring in items for the corridor sale.

Jan Neitzke reported on this year's remaining trips. The July trip still has openings to the Hollow Day Lily Farm. The August trip is sold out, along with the first week's trip to Mackinac Island. The second trip to Mackinac Island on Sept. 22-28 has some seats available. The October trip to Dollywood is sold out. There are a few seats open for the trip to the Cumberland County Playhouse on Nov. 26. The December trip to see the Rockettes is full. If interested in any of the above trips, see or call Jan at 788-3667. She also has a waiting list for the trips that are full.

Nancy Fincher, sunshine lady, gave her report on all of the sick members, requesting that everyone keep them in their prayers as well as the military.

The 127 Seniors are looking forward to their fundraiser, which will be June 8 at the fabulous Palace Theatre with many, many entertainers, such as Tom Fincher, Dennis Donald and Frank Sexton. Come help them with their fundraiser and enjoy all the talent they have for their entertainment.

Emil gave a special thank you for the wonderful memorial tribute that Leonard Hollender and Sandy Devine conducted in memory of all the members they lost in 2012. Emil also welcomed new members Jerry and Judy Sparks.

The entertainment was provided by William "Dusty" Carver, M.D. Not only did he play great ragtime piano music, but he also gave some background of each song he played. After the dinner prayer, all enjoyed a delicious meal with sandwiches, salads and desserts provided by all the members.
