At their recent meeting, the Roses of the Cumberlands Chapter 1, Order of Confederate Rose (OCR), enjoyed a potluck luncheon of assorted finger foods at the home of Helen and Frank Holladay.
Valerie Ernst presented a program of information and special tips on how to host an authentic Victorian tea. She exhibited some of her elegant handmade Victorian hats and permitted each member to select and try on her favorite one. The chapter made plans to host a tea as a fundraiser later in the year.
In other business, the chapter planned a program for the July 4 Pro Troop Rally and made a monetary donation to a sister OCR member who had lost her house and possessions, including some pets, to a fire.
The OCR is a support group for the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV). Anyone interested in learning more about the organization can contact Carolyn Hedgecoth at 484-4187.
