Carrie Hassler and Hard Rain hits No. 1

Rural Rhythm Records is pleased to announce Carrie Hassler and Hard Rain hit #1 on the May 2009 Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine’s Top 30 singles chart with “I Can Go Back Anytime.” The album, CHHR2, appears at #7 on the same publication's Top 15 album chart. CHHR2 has gained other incredible chart success including also reaching #1 on Cashbox Magazine’s Rockygrass Album Chart in February.
CHHR2 has numerous successful tracks, including “I Can Go Back Anytime” being named in the WAMU’s Top 40 Songs of 2008 by Lee Michael Demsey; the Alzheimer’s themed song, “Stranger in His Mind” receiving the Country Song of the Year by Strictly Country Magazine; three songs (“Devil’s Den, “Fickle Heart,” and “I Can Go Back Anytime”) appearing in the Sirius-XM Top 40 Bluegrass Songs over recent months; “I Can Go Back Anytime” at #9 on Bluegrass Music Profiles Magazine’s Top 30 Songs (March); and “Country Strong” reaching the #9 spot in the United Kingdom. Rural Rhythm also just released the latest bluegrass single, “Faith & Hope.”
Hassler has celebrated quite a few milestones recently, including a nomination for the 2009 SPBGMA Female Vocalist of the Year; honored last December by her hometown of Pikeville, TN where the mayor presented her with the Keys to the City of Pikeville and proclaimed the new “Carrie Hassler Day”; and appearing on the cover of Bluegrass Music Profiles Magazine (Nov/Dec 08 issue).
Carrie Hassler and Hard Rain recently announced the new addition to band, 17-year-old Zach Gilmer who joins other Hard Rain members Keith McKinnon, Kevin McKinnon, Jamie Harper and Travis Anderson. The band is currently sponsored by Chattanooga based Moon Pie Company.
