Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity adds two more inductees to their volunteer of the month roll.
Cline Sharber was awarded the honor for the month of March. He was born and raised in Murfreesboro. After spending most of his early youth working on local farms, he pursued a career in engineering. His occupation led him to many interesting parts of the country and upon retirement he and his wife, Jo, made their way back to Tennessee and Fairfield Glade. Jo not only keeps herself busy playing cards, she volunteers at CMC, American Red Cross and Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church. They have seven children, 15 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way.
Besides being a volunteer truck driver at Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity, Cline loves golf, NASCAR racing, traveling in their RV and is a member of the Sportsman Club. Said Cline, “I enjoy volunteering at Habitat and working with the other volunteers. Everyone is friendly and helpful and it is gratifying to be part of such a terrific organization.”
The April award went to Judi Flynn. Flynn has one of the pleasant voices that you hear when calling the Habitat for Humanity office. She and her husband retired to Fairfield Glade in August of 1997 from Findlay, Ohio. A year later she was widowed and needing to stay active. She has been active as one of the Habitat for Humanity office/phone partners since 2003. She also volunteers at the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church serving on several committees as well as volunteering at Cumberland Children’s Service/House of Hope, the Helping Hands Ministry and is a life member of Beta Sigma Phi’s Laureate Alpha Kappa.
She is mother to two sons: Patrick, who resides with his wife, Janie, in Florida, and Jeff and his family of San Antonio, Texas. She has five grandchildren and she "loves Tennessee.”
