Business and Professional Women to raise funds with teacup gifts

Tue, May 13 2008

Business and Professional Women of Cumberland County will be taking orders for teacup gifts to celebrate Administrative Professionals' Day April 23. This was previously known as Secretary's Day and recognizes the work of clerical employees such as administrative assistants, receptionists, paralegals, etc. It is celebrated as part of a larger Administrative Professionals Week, which takes place during the last full week of April.
Attractive teacups and saucers will be filled with goodies artfully wrapped and delivered on April 23. They will contain aromatic tea bags, chocolate spoons, cookie, mints, a favorite cookie recipe, all artfully wrapped in cellophane. There will be a limited number of gifts, so get your order in early by calling Pat Wiedemann at 210-8975, Terri Curran at 456-6799 or Renee Wicker at 210-3403.
Cost of the teacup gift is $7.50 for 1-4 teacups or $5 for 5 or more. This is a new fundraiser for BPW and will benefit their scholarship program or the Women's Forum project. The second forum this year will be at Tennessee Technology Center, Crossville, on Friday, March 28, from 11:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. It is open to the public, as well as students.
BPW members will meet Wednesday, March 26, at 5:30 p.m. at 329 McLarty Lane for a covered dish supper. Beverages and service will be provided. Guests will be musicians from the Big South Fork Opry. They will present a sampling of their music for their upcoming concert at the Palace Theatre on April 12.
