Adcocks celebrate 58th anniversary

CROSSVILLE — George Jerry and Nannie Adcock will celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary July 26.

Mr. Adcock and the former Nannie Lou Farmer were married July 26, 1953, in Springfield, TN.

The couple have been residents of Cumberland County for 50 years, moving to Crossville in 1961. Prior to that, they lived in several states from Florida to Oklahoma. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in 1985 where he had been a supervisory flight service specialist in the air traffic control field with 34 years of service. He is also a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology. For over than 12 years, he managed an aviation weather observation team at Crossville Memorial Airport.

Nan has been an active member of Family and Consumer Education clubs and enjoys crafts, such as designing sweat shirts and making patchwork jackets.

The couple has two children, Tina Taylor and Chris Adcock, and one grandchild.

They have been members of Memorial Baptist Church for 25 years.
