tansi siphons 1.jpg

In what is not a common event, siphon tubes at the Lake Tansi dam were opened as a result of heavy rains over the past week. With Cumberland County being 680 square miles, exact rainfall varies, but officials said that just over six inches of rain fell during the past week with most falling between Friday and Sunday morning. While the siphon tubes are opened for the annual scheduled dock maintenance, it is not common for the release of water from Lake Tansi because of heavy rains. The result was a picturesque fountain.
