The National Christmas Tree passed through Cumberland County Thursday morning on its way to the nation's capital. The tree will be lit Friday, Dec. 6, with a special program beginning at 3:30 CST. The lighting on the National Christmas Tree began in 1923 with President Calvin Coolidge and the tradition has continued to bring a message of hope and peace for past 91 years.
